How to correctly install the chain saw guide plate and chain and the use of chain saw oil products

2024-06-19

Chain saw products have many advantages such as high power, low vibration, high cutting efficiency, and low logging cost. They have become the leading handheld logging machinery in China's forest areas. The chain saw shock absorption system uses springs and high-strength shock-absorbing rubber to absorb shock. The sprocket is in the form of spur teeth, which makes assembling the chain simpler and more convenient. Therefore, the chain saw is a very good product for landscaping. As for purchasing, the current prices of domestic chain saws vary widely, ranging from three to four hundred, seven to eight hundred, and several thousand. If you consider low cost, of course you can consider buying a hand saw, or even an axe. However, if the workload is heavy, the hand saw cannot meet the needs, and you have to choose an electric saw or a chain saw. So how to install the chain saw guide plate and chain when using the chain saw? How to choose chain saw oil?

  1. How to correctly install the chain saw guide plate and chain?

Since the cutting edge of the chain saw chain is very sharp, to ensure safety, be sure to wear thick protective gloves during installation.

Follow these seven steps to correctly install the chain saw guide plate and chain:

  1. Pull back the front baffle of the chain saw and make sure the brake is released.

  1. Loosen and remove the two M8 nuts, and remove the right side cover of the chain saw.

  1. First install the chain saw guide plate on the main machine, then install the chain saw chain on the sprocket and guide plate guide groove, and pay attention to the direction of the chain saw teeth.

  1. Properly adjust the tensioning screw located on the outside of the right side cover, refer to the blue line above, and align the tensioning pin with the guide plate pin hole.

  1. Install the right side cover of the chain saw to the main machine. Also refer to the blue line, insert the front baffle pin into the box pin hole, and then slightly tighten the two M8 nuts.

  1. Lift the guide plate with your left hand, use a screwdriver with your right hand to turn the tensioning screw to the right, adjust the tightness of the chain appropriately, and check the chain tension with your hand. When the hand strength reaches 15-20N, the standard distance between the chain and the guide plate is about 2mm.

  1. Finally tighten the two M8 nuts, then use both hands (wearing gloves) to turn the chain, check that the chain transmission is smooth and the adjustment is complete;

If it is not smooth, check the cause first, and then adjust in the above order again.

  1. Use of chain saw oil products

A chain saw requires gasoline, engine oil and chain saw chain lubricant:

  1. Only unleaded gasoline of No. 90 or above can be used for gasoline. When adding gasoline, the fuel tank cap and the area around the filler port must be cleaned before refueling to prevent debris from entering the fuel tank. The high-branch chain saw should be placed on a flat place with the fuel tank cap facing up. When refueling, don't let the gasoline spill out, and don't fill the fuel tank too full. After refueling, be sure to tighten the fuel tank cap tightly by hand.

  1. Only use high-quality two-stroke engine oil to ensure a long service life of the engine. Do not use ordinary four-stroke engines. When using other two-stroke engine oils, their models should reach TC grade quality. Poor quality gasoline or oil can damage the engine, seals, oil passages and fuel tank.

  1. Mixing of gasoline and engine oil, the mixing ratio: when using the two-stroke engine oil specially used for high branch saw engines, it is 1:50, that is, 1 part of engine oil plus 50 parts of gasoline; when using other engine oil that meets the TC level, it is 1:25, that is, 1 1 part engine oil to 25 parts gasoline. The mixing method is to first pour engine oil into a fuel tank that is allowed to hold fuel, then pour in gasoline and mix evenly. The gasoline engine oil mixture will age, so the general configuration should not exceed one month's use. Special attention should be paid to avoid direct contact between gasoline and skin and to avoid breathing gases emitted by gasoline.
  2. Use high-quality chain saw chain lubricant and keep the lubricant not lower than the oil level to reduce wear of the chain and saw teeth. Since chain saw lubricating oil will be completely discharged into the environment, ordinary lubricating oil is petroleum-based, non-degradable and will pollute the environment. It is recommended to use degradable and environmentally friendly chain saw oil as much as possible. Many developed countries have rigid regulations on this. Avoid environmental pollution.
